I am a visual artist, researcher, writer, and educator based in Amsterdam. I am most interested in the functioning of public images and their relationship to social memory and politics. To draw out and make visible what strange things people do with and to images to make a point in political conflicts, I combine visual/artistic modes of research (especially collecting, close reading, and montage of images) with academic research. These works, I present in exhibitions, lectures, videos, articles, and academic papers. I currently teach artistic research at the University of Amsterdam.
